The PGA Fashion & Demo Experience got off to a terrific start Monday under the clear, sunny, and hot Las Vegas skies, with approximately 30 companies exhibiting on the range, practice green and inside the clubhouse at beautiful Cascata Golf Club.
A wide range of products and services were on hand to demonstrate and discuss products with the PGA professionals, buyers, media and others in attendance. Among those companies was Tour Edge Golf, and its’ Exotics CB Pro U Limited Edition Hybrid.
The new hybrid features the patented Slip Stream sole that the industry first saw on the CB Pro fairways woods last year. The sole has been tweaked, producing faster speed by minimizing turf contact regardless of the attack angle and position of the head at impact. New heel and toe cutouts promote less turf interaction and greater playability from all conditions.
One other change is in the shaft. The CB PRO U comes standard with tPhoto-Demohe second generation KURO KAGE Silver series, a very popular shaft on the pro tours. One thing hasn’t changed: In Exotics tradition, the forged cup face is combo brazed to a hyper-steel body for unprecedented power.
ING member VPAR scored the two-man PGA Pro-Pro Championship Monday morning at Cascata, and by all accounts the scoring went flawlessly.
Among the other companies making the most noise on Monday was one of the smallest. Swing Wizzard, in its most primitive terms, is a training aid that appears to be two clubs placed butt to butt, sharing the same grip. So, one long club with a clubhead on each end and a grip in the middle. It is so much more than that, obviously, and world renowned instructor Jim McLean believes in the club’s ability to fix plane, path and other aspects of the golf swing that he has endorsed Swing Wizzard.
The expo portion of the three-day event began Tuesday at the Venetian Resort on the Las Vegas Strip. Over 200 exhibitors, mainly from the apparel and accessories segments of the golf industry, are displaying their latest products and materials for two days in the Venetia Conference Center’s Palazzo Ballroom, with the hopes of sparking a nerve in prospective buyers from across the golf business landscape.
One company that has been sparking lots of nerves recently is Chase54 apparel company. On Tuesday Chase54 had former PGA Tour professional Al Gieberger in the booth as the company launched its new line, Spectrum. To mark the occasion, Chase54 served up a special cocktail named Chi54. “We invite people to stop by and sample a Chi54 as we’ve captured the essence of the brand in the ultimate cocktail…fresh, and spicy,” designer Lulu Faddis said.
The show continues through Wednesday afternoon.
