Attendees at the 28th Annual ING Spring Conference will have the opportunity to test the latest and greatest golf clubs, putters and training products from manufacturers large and small during the popular ING Demo Lab.

The Demo Lab will be one of the highlights at the 2018 ING Spring Conference May 20-23 at the IP Casino Resort & Spa in Biloxi, MS.

The non-profit International Network of Golf, the industry’s only media-based networking organization, conducts this annual gathering of media and golf companies and leaders. ING is “where the media and golf industry connect.”

Anyone in the golf industry and media is invited to join ING and attend the conference. Call 407-328-0500 or visit www.inggolf.com for details.

Companies with golf clubs, putters, training aids and instructional programs get space on the range and putting green to display product. Attendees, including dozens of golf writers, broadcasters and editors from media outlets across America come through the Lab to capture first-hand knowledge of the equipment. The Demo Lab is scheduled for Monday morning May 21 at Shell Landing Golf Club, and will include breakfast.

The ING Spring Conference schedule is packed with networking, educational and golf events designed to help all attendees enhance their standing in the golf industry. Highlights include:

VISIT MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST is the official host of this year’s conference. Tucked away between New Orleans and Mobile there’s 62 miles of scenic coastline just waiting for you to discover. A little slice of southern coastal heaven, where waters are nice and calm thanks to our barrier islands. A place where you can paddle, swim and drift the day away. Great golf is abundant, with legendary designers like Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Davis Love III, Mark McCumber, Jerry Pate, and Tom Fazio doing some of their best work there. Outstanding casino hotels like the IP Casino provide first-class lodging, gaming and nightlife.

WORLD AMATEUR GOLFERS CHAMPIONSHIP USA will again conduct an ING Qualifier for its National Championship, which is set for Hollywood Casino in Bay St. Louis, MS in August. The ING National Qualifier will take place on the Shell Landing Golf Club on Monday, May 21. WAGC is a global amateur golf competition where golfers of all skill levels compete to make their way to the World Finals, which will be held in Malaysia Oct. 20-27. Team USA will also be represented in Johor, Malaysia with the winners from five (handicap flighted) divisions. Players will compete in regional tournaments and five majors to make it to the Team USA National Championship in August. Competition at the National Championship will determine who will receive an all-expense paid berth to the World Finals.

One-On-One Appointment Show Is NetworkING At Its’ Best At ING SprING Conference

At most conferences where networking is the ultimate goal, attendees are brought together in one room and left on their own to meet and exchange business cards.

The One-On-One Appointment Show at the ING Spring Conference takes it a step further, arranging a series of 15-minute, pre-scheduled meetings between people who can help each other grow in the golf industry.

The One-On-One Appointment Show will be one of the highlights at the 28th Annual ING Spring Conference May 20-23 at the IP Casino Resort & Spa in Biloxi, MS. Anyone in the golf industry and media is invited to join ING and attend the conference.

Nearly everyone at the conference can benefit from participation in the ING One-On-One Appointment Show, which will be held on Tuesday at this year’s conference. It was created to place an emphasis on business relations between the media and golf companies, resorts, destinations and entrepreneurs.

Participating companies set up tabletop displays and conduct private meetings held every 15 minutes, for nearly six hours.

The exhibitor and the visiting media member or business attendee share the time, with the goal being to create win-win programs. At the very least, a business relationship is established or nurtured.

It is also a perfect time for writers to gather story material and TV/Radio broadcasters to do interviews. Several golf radio shows will take part in Radio Row during the Appointment Show. Each show will set up a table, and exhibitors will be brought to the table to do recorded radio interviews for future airings.

The ING staff gathers all meeting requests ahead of the conference and makes appropriate matches for the appointments. The entire schedule is determined and published prior to the show to allow for adequate planning time.

Another key element of the conference for exhibiting companies is the Demo Lab on Monday morning at Shell Landing Golf Club. Companies with golf equipment and training aids set up on the range and putting green where attendees try the products first hand.

The conference will feature a full schedule of networking and educational events, along with the Appointment Show and Demo Lab:

  • EDUCATION: Sessions include Marketing & PR, Social Media Marketing and more.
  • GOLF: The World Amateur Golfers Championship, USA National Qualifier will take place Monday on the Davis Love-designed Shell Landing Golf Club. This individual stroke play net competition will be divided into five flights. Winners of those flights will earn complimentary entry and accommodations in the World Amateur Golfers Championship, USA National Championship Aug. 2-4 at the Hollywood Casino in Bay St. Louis, MS. In recent years, ING Qualifiers John Duval and Jim Smith have won their flights in the National Championship and went on to represent the USA in the World Championship.

Also, the 11th Annual Durland Cup team scramble will take place The Oaks Golf Club on Wednesday.

  • NETWORKING: Several networking sessions are planned, including the Opening Night Welcome Reception and the Tuesday Night Banquet.

ING SprING Conference RequestING Speakers For Unique ING Talks Concept

The International Network of Golf is bringing back its speaking concept called ING Talks at its 28th Annual ING Spring Conference May 20-23 at the IP Casino Resort & Spa in Biloxi, MS, and is looking for folks who have a non-commercial message to deliver.

The ING Spring Conference is the annual gathering of golf media and industry executives, and is conducted by the non-profit, media-based International Network of Golf. Anyone in the golf industry or media is eligible to attend.

ING Talks is structured similarly to TED, a nonprofit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks of 18

minutes or less. But ING Talks has a narrower focus on subject matter. The objective is to provide conference attendees (media and industry leaders) with helpful information they can utilize in their own businesses and careers.

That is the true essence of ING, whose members come together to help each other flourish in the golf industry. ING is about information sharing, education, product exposure and relationship building.

What ING Talks is NOT, is a commercial for products or services. While speakers can selectively use examples of their own company, service or product to make their point, they can’t use the time as a sales pitch. There are other elements of the conference built for that.

To request a Proposal Worksheet so you can submit your idea for ING Talks, click on the previous link, email mike@jamisongolf.com, or call 407-328-0500. Proposal deadline is March 2.

The ING Conference Assistance Committee and ING Staff will review the proposals and determine who will present at this year’s Conference. It is required that all ING Talks Presenters be registered attendees at the conference.

If your topic is chosen, you will have up to 15 minutes during Wednesday educational sessions at the conference, to deliver your ING Talks message. Following your talk attendees will be asked to complete evaluation forms that will provide feedback to you.

Along with the new ING Talks concept, the conference will feature a full schedule of networking and educational events, including the popular One-On-One Appointment Show, where exhibitors conduct a series of 15-minute meetings with media members and attendees of their choice. Also on the schedule:

  • DEMO LAB: This is a wonderful opportunity for attendees to test the latest golf equipment and training aids on the practice range and green.

Knuth Golf High Heat Hybrids

© Design Theory LLC 2016

Like the driver and fairways woods that preceded them, the High Heat hybrids were named to numerous “top product” lists following the 2017 PGA Show.  The High Heat hybrids feature a Beta titanium cup face, providing a significantly increased trampoline effect across the entire face for extra distance and increased forgiveness compared to traditional steel faces, which are in all major brands and over 99 percent of all fairway woods and hybrids. A lower and deeper center of gravity makes it much easier to get the ball airborne and on target. Fire Zone Face Technology provides a larger sweet spot zone. www.knuthgolf.com.

PXG Irons

The PXG 0311 Irons feature what PXG claims is the thinnest face in golf, formed from HT1770 high–strength steel producing seriously high ball speeds. The hollow head is injected with Thermo plastic elastomer, or TPE, into the center of the iron’s hollow body. TPE is a low–density material with vibration–dampening qualities that enhance the sound and feel of the iron. The body is forged of 1025 carbon steel that also helps improve sound and feel. The clubs come in a satin chrome or extreme Black DLC finish. www.pxg.com

Vertical Groove Driver

Vertical Groove Golf, manufacturer of the world’s only Vertical Groove Driver, is the only golf club innovation with vertical grooves on the clubface. Voted 2017 Best Golf Product by Golf Aficionado, the Vertical Groove Driver capped a successful first season in the market by finishing #1 in Driving Distance and #2 in Driving Accuracy (missing 1st by 0.27%) on the PGA TOUR Champions, while earning two professional victories, including a Major Championship. Vertical Groove Technology is proven to reduce spin at impact, forcing tighter dispersion and leading to straighter ball flight and greater distance. www.vertgolf.com.

Glowgear began pioneering intelligent field targets in 2013 by creating the first rechargeable night golf lights and tour quality night golf balls that allowed venues to access the majority of consumers who worked during the day. From this they set forth to help facilities move into the new ‘TopGolf’ golf entertainment market by designing the first interactive, topographical field targets that allow facilities to “turn off their lights and turn on the course” with light, sound and interactive entertainment. Much in the tradition of Cosmic Bowling they are licensing the Cosmic Driving Range designed as an affordable ‘pop up’ retrofit for existing golf facilities. www.glowgear.net.

STEADIHEAD Laser Putting Trainer

Callaway Epic Driver

Adding structural stability allows the Epic face to be thinner and concentrates flexing across a wider area. So inside the head, two bars stretch from the crown to the sole. The extra stability makes for a face that’s 20-percent thinner and more flexible than before. The two models use a titanium frame with carbon-composite panels above and below. The standard version offers a sliding rear weight to address slices and hooks, and the Sub Zero’s two weights optimize ball spin. It’s Callaway’s most intriguing driver in two decades. http://www.callawaygolf.com

Cobra One Length Irons

The single length iron concept has been around for years, but Cobra is going to be the brand that puts it on the map. Every player has their favorite club and for many, it’s a 7-iron. With COBRA’s One Length irons, you can play any iron in the bag as if it were your trusty 7-iron. https://www.cobragolf.com
